OPEN LETTER

Dear minister of education

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb. 

How are you, sir? You must have been busy with the affairs of education of children in this country. Our Same sir, we also busy. Thanks to the curriculum that you create. We are two student that supportive and opposed the 2013 curriculum sir. Why so? As the two coins have two different images. Curriculum 2013 created with advantages and disadvantages.

The times have now reached the goal posotif sir, as well as in education. Of course, to take in every level of education, has many obstacles. In each country, it has a special way to apply science education to their citizens. Some country use a way to focus interest since stepping primary school and some even apply it universally science since stepping primary school. In Indonesia, learning techniques used is to apply all subjects since someone started to go to primary school. And now taken the technique is to implement a curriculum of 2013 or commonly called the K13. K13 curriculum is good enough right now. With this curriculum, students are required to always be busy with positive activities, such as chores, homework, assignments during the holidays, the final project of the semester, papers etc. Where these activities are almost always available in each subject and will be submitted to the teacher concerned with almost the same time. Of course, discipline and proactive attitude are indispensable at this time, if not, then these students will be left behind.

On the other side, this would make some students feel unable to do. Too much they learn, where each subject has the task every week. and than with another activities outside learning activities (KBM), which also must be done by a student. Of course a student will have a pretty big responsibility to carry out all the obligations. However, as can be seen around that there are some students who can not afford the existence of this curriculum. For them this curriculum is quite burdensome and prevented them will focus their interests and talents. Even a few of those who say that when they grow up, there will only be one choice for his ideals. However, the current K13 not like their expectations. Focus level they were finally broken and difficult to explore interest in their talents early on. Required to understand the subjects is not easy for some students. Balancing learning with other social activities are also not an easy thing. By giving time to the needs of one student, are supposed to make them more enthusiastic about the interest in their talents. Not to impose what they do not like is the easiest way to make a student to become a champion. No need with this demand, by a student who likes to interest his talents and focus on it, then he learn it more, then he will be successful. Embed this on a student's honesty, sense of responsibility and character, then he will grow up to be a champion. so we submit this open letter. I hope you can consider it.
